Julie HalfnightsJulie Halfnights is a community leader who has volunteered in a wide range of capacities and with a diverse portfolio of interests over her past 28 years in Richmond.

Many of her efforts are dedicated to providing opportunities for children and youth to thrive, grow and learn how to become leaders themselves.

She is currently a director of the Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives Board, and chairs the Richmond Community Foundation Grants & Scholarship Committee. She volunteers with Thompson Community Association, serving as President of the board. Past efforts have included lead roles in the first Tall Ships festival, Nibbles & Bites, St Anne's Anglican Church, Parent Advisory Councils at Thompson, Blair and Burnett Schools, the DPAC, the Richmond Spirit of BC Committee and at the Oval before and during the Olympics.

Julie feels strongly that, as it grows and changes, Richmond must maintain a sense of belonging within neighbourhoods, building on what has historically existed and supporting efforts in new and rebuilt areas.

She knows this will happen when all residents know they can speak up, be listened to and will be supported when they want to get involved.
