Rob HowardRob Howard currently serves as President of New Coast Lifestyles, a Retirement Community company with two projects underway in Richmond. He also serves as President of the Richmond Community Coalition and as Chair of the Richmond Christmas Fund.

As the past MLA for Richmond Centre, he has served as:

  • Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, Provincial Lead: Air Access
  • Member, Cabinet Committee Jobs and Economic Growth
  • Chair, Select Standing Committee Finance & Government Services


A past Richmond City Councillor,  Rob was three times elected to City Council and served on most committees, including Chair of the Finance Committee, the Public Works Committee and the Community Safety Committee.

Rob was also Elected to the Executive (1st Vice President) of the Lower Mainland Local Government Association, and also Chaired the Regional Transportation Committee. During this time Rob was a driving force behind several initiatives, including The RAV Rapid Transit Task Force (now Canada Line), and the City's long term financial plan. Rob also sat on many committees including the Olympic Oval Building Advisory Committee and the Mayor’s Blue Ribbon Economic Round Table.

Rob Howard spent almost 20 years at Richmond Savings Credit Union, the final years as a member of the Executive Management Committee. As a result he participated in setting the overall direction for one of the most innovative Credit Unions in the Province. Rob held specific responsibilities for new branch development and other real estate assets and held a myriad of positions over many years, including Commercial Lending, Internal Audit and Data Processing Management.

In the past, Rob has also volunteered with the Richmond Minor Hockey Association - helping, coaching and running tournaments for 12 years. He also served on the Board of the Richmond Caring Place, served as Chair of the Vancouver Chapter of the Real Estate Institute of British Columbia, and as President of Tourism Richmond.

Born and raised in Richmond, Rob and his wife Trudy have seen many changes and are proud to call Richmond home.
