Sal BhullarRaised in South Vancouver, Sal Bhullar moved to Richmond in 1984 with her husband, Avtar, a local active cranberry farmer. Sal and her family feel they have been privileged to raise their three children in Richmond.

Community involvement has been a big part of her family’s life. Sal feels that it is very important to give back to the community with not only financial contributions but also time, knowledge and life experience. Firmly committed to serving our community, she is involved with a number of local societies, organizations and charities.

With a keen interest in youth and health care issues, Sal has applied her energy to teaching Yoga and meditation classes in Richmond. Having worked at the Vancouver Airport for 27 years as a union member in customer service, she sees the value of living and working within the same city. She would like to make Richmond a place where all children will live or return to and find higher paying jobs with more options for more affordable and accessible housing.

As an accomplished, seasoned business woman who is a natural leader, she believes in empowering women and children and engaging them in the political process which is critical to our city’s future. She believes the role of the elected is to be accountable to the people, while being open and willing to engage in and encourage discussion on all matters of importance to the citizens.

She is very aware of community issues, about rising municipal taxes, and the need to deal with them directly and responsibly. Her vision is to help create a Richmond where new opportunities to learn, succeed and grow are available to everyone. As an advocate who is constantly seeking the best ways to make a difference in the lives of others, she brings her passion for critical funding for social programs, sports, and new senior’s centers to Richmond.
